In the 1930s, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, appeared to a Polish nun, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska. Jesus instructed her in praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, promising extraordinary graces to those who would recite this special devotion especially at 3 p.m. for themselves, for others and for the dying.  The Chaplet of Divine should be prayed often but Jesus specifically asked that it be recited as a novena from Good Friday to the Saturday after Easter.  Jesus also revealed to her the establishment of the Feast of Divine Mercy, to be held on the Sunday after Easter.

Jesus told St. Faustina: “I desire that the Feast of Divine Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinner…Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation, recourse to My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity. My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to confession and worthily receive Holy Communion and pray this Chaplet of Mercy, shall obtain complete forgiveness of sin and punishment. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet.” (Easter confession and this Mass will satisfy those conditions.)

Please pray the Novena of Divine Mercy with us and to conclude this Novena,

please join us in praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. on April 27th  with the celebration of the Holy Mass to follow.
